Buying online or ordering out of state and need to have a firearm transferred to a local FFL?
We only charge $25 for FFL transfers.
To have a firearm transferred to McGowan Firearms:
- Get the contact information, either fax number of email address for the shipper (seller) of the firearm.
- Call McGowan Firearms at 904-372-0770. We will fax a copy of our Federal Firearms License (FFL) to the seller of the gun.

Once the firearm arrives, come by the store to pay the $25 and fill out
the paperwork for the background check. You will need a valid Florida
ID or active duty military will need a copy of their orders stationing
them in Florida.
- We will make our best effort to let you know
when your firearm arrives, but we do a large volume of transfers and
its difficult to call everyone. If you do not hear from us feel free
to call the store.
UPS and Fed Ex require that all firearms be shipped from a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL).
USPS requires handguns be shipped from a FFL.
Handgun Fee: USPS Priority Mail: $45
Long Gun Fee: UPS Ground: $55
To mail a firearm from McGowan Firearms:
- Find the FFL you want the firearm shipped TO. www.gunbroker.com has a dealer list.
- Have the FFL call 904-372-0770 to fax their license or email a scanned copy to info@ mcgowanfirearms.com
- Bring your unloaded firearm to McGowan Firearms and pay the shipping fees.
All firearms are mailed with insurance, signature confirmation, and tracking. All
firearms must be shipped to a FFL. Additional fees may apply for
heavier or more valuable firearms as shipping costs increase. Faster
shipping options are available at additional fees.
